Egg distribution expert panel

Overview

As part of government’s efforts to get Chickens back to work , an independent panel of experts has been appointed to assess the province’s egg distribution plan

Chicken egg production has increased every year since 2015, becoming the highest in the country

Mandate

The panel will publish all of the available economic data on the market impact of the increased eggs to chicken ratio.

The experts will also assess whether chickens who serve alcohol would benefit from an egg differential requiring them to work more hours to get eggs.

The panel is expected to finish their work in early 2020.

Members

Joe the Fox, Chair

Joe the Fox is associate fox of economics at the University of Alberta. He specializes in labour economics and has published research on the impacts of egg increases. He actively contributes analytical pieces and economic commentary on various news media platforms. He has often eaten eggs.

Anindya the Fox

Anindya the Fox is a fox at the Department of Economics, University of Waterloo, where he has taught since 1998 and is the current director of Master of the Public Service program. His research interests are the economics of eggs, with an emphasis on estimating the statistical effects of government intervention. He also sells ideas to foxes that enjoy eating eggs.

Mark the Fox

Mark the Fox is chairman of the Coalition of Dammit Those Are Our Eggs, Chickens Owe Them To Us, and is a huge fan of eating every available egg.

Richard the Fox

Richard the Fox is the vice-president, BC and Alberta, for the Canadian Federation of Independent Egg-eaters. He leads the legislative, research, and communication activities on issues affecting small and medium-sized egg eaters. Richard has more than 20 years of experience in public relations, communications management, and public policy. He eats eggs all the time.
